Ballina Salmon Festivals 60th birthdaybash celebration

And what an anniversary party its going to be ! Celebrating 60 Years of the Ballina Salmon Festival

The Ballina Salmon Festival is thrilled to announce a special collaboration with the award-winning Irish dance troupe, Atlantic Rhythm Productions, also known as the Moffatt School of Irish Dance. This spectacular event will be held on Saturday, July 13, as the penultimate celebration of the festival’s 60th anniversary.

Inspired by County Mayo’s rich heritage and rugged landscape, Atlantic Rhythm will deliver a mesmerizing live, open-air performance along the River Moy. With the floodlit St. Muredach’s Cathedral as a backdrop and the majestic river in the foreground, the night promises to be an unforgettable experience featuring the most captivating Irish dance scores, and speciallooy cuated Irish music tunes.

The festival committee is also excited to welcome ‘Cronin’, an Indie Irish band from Drumlish/Leeds/Mullingar, with Co Mayo connections to the stage.
Fronted by Irish brothers Jonathon and Michael Cronin, Cronin is renowned for their previous project, The Aftermath, which achieved commercial success and critical acclaim. They have shared the stage with notable acts such as Kaiser Chiefs, Niall Horan, Art Brut, Pete Doherty, Christy Moore, and Paul Weller. They performed alongside The Pogues and Shane MacGowan, before Shane passed (RIP) who praised them as “Pure Celtic Soul.”

The night will culminate in one of the festival’s best-loved attractions, a breathtaking fireworks display over Ballina’s upper and lower bridges. This will follow the musical and dance performances, creating a magical atmosphere for all, on the most magical night of the year, fireworks night.

The live entertainment will commence at 8.30 PM, and admission is free. Don’t miss this enchanting evening as we celebrate six decades of the Ballina Salmon Festival in style!
