Moy Valley Resources IRD
Moy Valley Resources CE Scheme
Ballina Salmon Festival is supported through the Moy Valley Resources Community Employment scheme, which in turn is funded, supported and monitored by the Department of Social Protection.
Participants in the CE scheme are placed in a variety of roles including administration and general operatives who perform many roles to support the festival, including sales, administration, stewarding, construction, building of props to name just a few.
Supervisor Annette Maughan and Assistant Supervisor Jacqueline Kinsella support their staff in their daily roles as well as developing individualised training plans and work experience as participants develop skills and experience to assist in entering the workforce.
Members of the Community Employment Scheme also bring their knowledge to bear when working with other groups to support various other events and initiatives in Ballina and North Mayo throughout the year.
The Ballina Salmon Festival wishes to acknowledge the enormous contribution of the Department of Social Protection to the Festival, as well as our fantastic office and workshop teams, upon whom we rely heavily throughout the year. We look forward to continuing to work together for the benefit of the festival and the participants.
